I teach high performers to develop optimal work-life balance using mindfulness practices that increase productivity, mitigate stress, amplify purpose, and cultivate a deep sense of fulfillment.

I am a veteran Creative Professional with 25 years experience in design, art direction, photography, marketing and advertising. I discovered a practice that rejuvenated my mind, body and soul. 15 years ago I began sharing the practice that has allowed me to heal, find balance and exist vibrantly in all my endeavors. I am an expert at discovering my own potential through mindfulness practices. Yoga and mindfulness has been the greatest gift and it is my mission in life to share its benefits with you.

I am the eternal optimist. I choose to live in gratitude, (a practice I can teach you). I live in awe and fascination with the natural beauty of the world which surrounds us. I am curious. I am industrious. I persevere through thick and thin.

I believe who you are when no one is watching is exactly how you show up in this world in every single thing that you do. I believe in serendipity. I believe the universe provides for each of us in unimaginable ways. If you can slow down enough to feel to the core of your being…you might just see it, feel it, and drop into the deep knowing that when you live in the flow of now, life completes itself with ease.

YOUR LIFE IS A PRECIOUS GIFT. YOU DESERVE A BALANCED HAPPY AND FULFILLING LIFE. IT’S TIME TO INTERRUPT DETRIMENTAL PATTERNS, ELEVATE DAILY ROUTINE AND STEP INTO EXISTING VIBRANTLY AND LIVING A LIFE WITH PURPOSE.

My transformation began some time after I graduated college. It took me a very long time for my mind, body and spirit to begin the awakening process. It very well may have started sooner, I was just way too numb to connect to the deeper layers of my being.

I discovered yoga out of sheer boredom and frustration with life. I was in my mid to late twenties…funny how it is hard to remember exactly when it all started, but somewhere around there. I was generally underwhelmed by my antics which were a vicious cycle of work, party, recover, repeat. I was working in fashion and 1000% did not fit in with the caddy, high falutin’ gals that roamed the office. I was there because I needed a job and they gave me one. I literally thought I was doing the right thing. What ended up happening was a 19 year stint at one company. I discovered my love for the creative arts and taught myself graphic design, art direction and eventually photography. I had enough inner drive and perseverance that I eventually became a Creative Director and ran a Fine Art Auction house and their digital photography studio. The thing that happened was that even amongst this passion, drive and flair for the creative industry I very slowly began to lose sight of my SOUL and my happiness. Very close to breaking a quarter century in the industry, I plateaued.

I was seeking…for what, I had no idea. I knew that in all areas of my life, I did not fit in. I was repeating toxic patterns. I was consistently living in a swell of stress, fear, and worry. My body was misfiring and malfunctioning on all levels. Chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety. A bout with Lyme disease and walking pneumonia. My body was not producing cortisol and the brain fog was debilitating. I was a complete and utter mess. After my father’s passing, I made a decision…all the money in the world was not worth what I was experiencing in my mind, body and soul. After years of working myself to the bone, I landed at my rock bottom. That was it. I had no more to give.

The first yoga class I ever took was post college and happened to be run at my hometown high school. It was 8 weeks for something like 60 bucks. I arrived at my first class and all the desks and chairs were pushed over to the side and we rolled out our mats. I literally had flashbacks of being in the detention room across the hall many a day after school.

BUT something happened that day! Maggie was trained in traditional Hatha Yoga…this was well before the dominance of power vinyasa yoga in the states. After the first class I noticed the muscles in my body felt strong, my mind felt stable and I was at ease. Seriously after just one class this was the result I got! The 8 weeks went by and I was feeling great. My mood began to stabilize, I was sleeping better and feeling strong in my mind and body.

I HAD TO HAVE MORE OF THIS IN MY LIFE!

I waited for the next yoga thing to bubble up in my life. Studios and the internet were not popular back then so I relied on newspapers and local ads sent via snail mail. I found a yoga program that ran at our local community center and signed up for several consecutive series. Then this gal Barbara started teaching there. She invited me to a newly opened studio and I popped in for their five dollar community class one friday night. I had no idea the class was going to be heated with steam and I LOVED IT!!! End of story right there, I bought a 10 pass and continued to do so for the foreseeable future and YOGA LITERALLY CHANGED MY LIFE!!! That was probably around 2004-2005. I have been practicing ever since!

I had discovered something that soothed my mind and body at the same time I was physically and mentally getting stronger. I basically lived at the yoga studio. I practiced 3-4 days a week. I felt SO good and was meeting all sorts of inspiring people. My practice was transforming.

I was getting stronger and more curious. The studio I attended had a yoga teacher training program. I in no way shape or form wanted to become a teacher, although I did have a curiosity and desire to deepen my own practice. The cost of admission was well beyond what I could afford. So I waited and was jealous of all the new friends I made at the studio who went through the program and came out glowing and raving about their experience. So I saved and saved and saved…and one day I pulled the trigger.

I enrolled in a 200 hour yoga teacher training. I remember getting the course syllabus and seeing the required book list. I was literally like WHOA there are books on this shit? Before the training even began I had devoured Pantanjali’s Yoga Sutras which basically equates to the Bible of yoga. And I loved every single second of that book. To date I have read it front to back at least three times.

Fifteen years and close to 900 hours later I am teaching yoga and mentoring with teachers, and continue to mentor with leaders that inspire me . Yoga is more than simply rolling out your mat and doing the postures. Yoga is a way of life. It is transformation through self discipline and self discovery. Yoga is slowing down enough to feel and know to the core of your being your own truth. Yoga is a profound felt experience. Yoga is healing, magical and a pure delight. Yoga is a lifelong practice of mindfulness and discovery that leads to finding balance. Yoga develops confidence and the strength to curate your best life. Finding the practice of yoga, I united with my own strength and wisdom through self discipline and self discovery. I have healed my mind, body and spirit using mindfulness based practices. Yoga is a way of life. It literally affects every single area of a personal wellness practice. And it is a practice. A daily practice in all aspects. Once I realized this, it became clear to me that becoming a Health + Lifestyle Coach was the next step to helping others navigate their personal wellness journey. It is my mission in life to share this practice with you so you may discover your own transformation and settle into a life you love and live a vibrant balanced existence. I cannot wait to share it with you!
